Insulating Glass
Insulating Glass Units are used in a variety of applications including windows, doors and skylights for commercial buildings and residential construction as well as in refrigeration units, transportation, marine or any other areas where energy conservation and comfort are part of the design.
Vitrum™ Glass Group fabricates high-performance insulating glass units by hermetically sealing two or more lites of glass together using our semi-automated vertical sealing lines. The space between the lites of glass is created using either an aluminum or warm-edge desiccant filled spacer-bar with bent corners and keyed joints. A primary seal (gas barrier) of polyisobutylene provides an airtight seal to prevent moisture transfer into the airspace, while the secondary seal (structural) holds the unit together and provides strength.
The glass combinations vary and may use clear, tinted, coated or ceramic screen-printed glass and are available in annealed, heat-strengthened, tempered or laminated form.
As a Vitro, Guardian and Saint-Gobain certified fabricator, Vitrum is able to provide exclusive access to Saint-Gobain Cool-Lite®, Cool-Lite® Xtreme and Planitherm®, along with Guardian Sunguard™ and the Vitro Solarban® family of high-performance solar control, low-e glass products.
Vitrum™ Glass Group has the capacity to meet projects big and small. With our five insulated glass unit production lines and large-capacity glass manufacturing capabilities, Vitrum can provide consistent lead times, oversized capabilities and high volume manufacturing to meet the most stringent requirements.
